Call to Order at 7:00 pm.

1. Adoption of Agenda:
M: THAT the Agenda be approved as circulated, with the addition of McNabb Paving and 2025 AGM.

2. Approval of Minutes:
M: THAT the minutes of the December 4, 2024 meeting be approved as circulated with a change to the Manager’s Report that “Water meters are being considered for installation in the community and quotes for the equipment are currently being received.”

3. Business Arising from Minutes
a. South Shore First Responders Delegate:  The Committee is not aware of any volunteers that have come forward. Topic will deferred until next meeting when Lorne Bumphrey is present.
b. Christmas Party:  There were 58 people that attended the 2024 Christmas Party.  There was $100 in donations.  $500 in expenses for the event, in addition to the food donations from residents.
Next year, the addition of a Santa visit would be appreciated by attendees.  Carla K and Dawn will organize the party for 2025.  The Regina Beach Hall is booked for December 6, 2025 for next year’s Christmas party.

 

4. Financial Report:
Carla K reported that the current account balance is $4,128.65. There is one outstanding cheque.
Currently there are 55 paid members.  Reminder that the fiscal year for the KRA is April 1 – March 31 each year. Starting April 1, 2025, Members are asked to send their $20 membership fees to Carla or email to kra.annualfees@gmail.com .

5. KBA Manager Report:
Lorne was unable to attend the meeting and will provide updates to the Committee.

 

6. Bylaw Compliance Report:
No formal reports submitted to the committee.

 

7. New Business:
a) Kinookimaw Website – the Board reviewed the website and have identified the following items to be reviewed further or updated:

History – some clarification on the information is needed. Dwayne to check with Lorne on the wording.
Resident’s Package
Kinookimaw Beach Assoc (KBA) - good
Kinookimaw Residents Assoc (KRA) – update the Board of Directors names and roles. Daryl Lukan (Vice President), and Blaine, Brodi & Carla Matt are Director (not members). Add kra.annualfees@gmail.com to the membership fees section. Also, the last sentence in the first paragraph should read “serve up to three consecutive, two year terms.”

Association (KRA) Bylaw – good
KB Ownership Governance ’16 – image at the bottom needs updating to include “His Majesty the King”.
KBA Bylaw Compliance Committee -move image at bottom over so it is not over the text.
Building & Construction Standards - good
Water Usage & Conservation – is the Water Reservoir Warning required anymore and is it updated on the board? If not and the communication is handled through email, then this should be removed.
KRA Storage Compound Policy – confirmation is needed that the Directors are responsible for enforcing this compound.
KRA Directors Conflict of Interest - good

AGM – President’s Report 2024 – the list of the Board of Directors and roles (in the white box) should be updated.
Upcoming Events – as events are being planned, they should be updated on this page. Include AGM – May 31, 2025; Summer BBQ – July 5, 2025; Christmas Party – December 6, 2025.
Photo Gallery – Leave the Christmas Party 2024, Community Park, and 2015 Lakeshore Destruction in there. All others should be included in folder under the years. (ie. 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, etc.) This will clean up this page.
Services – Committee members to review the Southshore Community Directory and see if this should be uploaded to the site or if we should choose certain businesses from this list.
Contact - good
b) Summer BBQ:  The BBQ and potential concert/entertainment will be held on July 5, 2025.
Last year’s entertainment was $1250. The committee will pay for this year’s entertainment and BBQ.
Carla K will look into entertainment for the event.  Dawn will include a “save the date” in the Kommunicator.
c) Running for Board:  One member is not putting their name forward to return to the board, and one is undecided. Board members to talk to committee members and see if anyone is interested in joining the board for 2025. 1-3 new members would be great.
d) 2025 AGM:  The 2025 AGM will be held on May 31, 2025 at 9:30 at the Kinookimaw Community Park.
Set up a head table this year so it is easier for members to know who is on the Board and it may be easier for everyone to hear the conversation.
e) Paving on McNabb:  The paving of McNabb has been put on hold for now. The priority for the Kinookimaw is finding solutions for a reliable and sufficient water supply for the community.

 

8. Next meeting date:
Next meeting to be held on May 7, 2025 at 7:00 at Blaine’s house.
