Kinookimaw Residents Association –Meeting Minutes February 10, 2026

 

Present:  President Dwayne Redekopp; Secretary Dawn Schmidt; Treasurer Rita Hanoski; Craig Matt; and Blaine Campbell 


Regrets: Vice-President Daryl Lukan; Muir Barber; Leila Blish and Lorne Bumphrey.

Call to Order at 7:16 pm.


1.      Adoption of Agenda:

M: THAT the Agenda be approved as previously circulated with the addition of membership concerns.

2.      Approval of Minutes:

M:             THAT the minutes of the November 5, 2025 meeting be approved as circulated.

3.      Business Arising from Minutes

Memberships and membership concerns–

As a result of the membership discussions and updates, 74 members are now paid for 2025/26.

The AGM is the start of the new fiscal year for the KRA, so renewals will start then.

When contacting community members, there were 19 items that were brought up. Some of the main concerns include:

1.      Water supply and water meters – this topic is still with KBA and there is nothing further to report at this time.

2.      Condition of McNabb – dust proofing and paving questions. Dust proofing is applied in the summer when conditions are suitable. Paving of McNabb has ben put on hold with the water supply in the community being a higher priority.

3.      Lease – update on the Lease Sub-Committee can be found in the minutes below.

4.      Trail Clean up – a trail clean up will be organized in the spring 2026. As in past years, an email will be sent out to community members and volunteers will be requested to assist with the work bee.

 

BBQ and Concert- 

The Concert has been booked for July 4, 2026.

The BBQ in the park needs repairs completed prior to the event. Blaine will coordinate the repair to the bottom of the BBQ.

Rita will work with Jacquie B. regarding a poster for the event.

 

Christmas Party- 

The Christmas party was well attended this year. There were 66 adults and 11 children at the event. 3 additional memberships were paid and there were $100 in donations from attendees.

For the hamper fundraiser, $210 were raised and donated for the community hampers.

 

One Drive & Outlook Update – 

A One Drive has been set up for the board members to use. This One Drive will house the KRA agendas, meeting minutes, Kommunicators, residents list, financial documents, etc. This OneDrive will allow all documents to be saved in one location for all members to access.

The email address info@kinookimaw.com has been set up and will be posted on the Kinookimaw website for inquiries. Craig will access the email address and forward any questions or concerns to the board.

Future emails from the KRA Board will be sent from this email address.

 

Lease Sub-Committee – 

There are 5 volunteers for the Sub-Committee:

•      Merv Lang

•      Scott Siemens

•      Gary Tramer

•      Michelle Hilbert

•      Craig Matt

Craig will coordinate a committee meeting to discuss the next steps for this group.

 

Website Photos & “Contact Us”- 

            The website photo section has been reorganized. If community members have photos from past events, feel free to send them to info@kinookimaw.com with a description of the event and the date.


The “Contact Us” on the website has been updated. It used to be a fillable form, but this has been removed and two contact addresses have been included. One for KRA questions and one for KBA questions. 

 

4.      Financial Report:

Rita presented the financial information and indicated that the current account balance is $3,565 with 1 outstanding cheque.

5.      KBA Manager Report

 

Lorne is away – no update provided.

 

6.      Bylaw Compliance Report

 

No formal reports submitted to the committee.

 

7.      New Business:

 

No new business.

 

8.      Next meeting date

 

Next regular meeting will be held on April 8th, 2026 at 7:00 at Blaine’s house.

Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
